Hello

I'm Caroline, mom of 3 and founder of Belly Rebuild. When I'm not in my office working with women, I enjoy traveling, training for marathons, shuttling my active daughters around, and hanging out with my husband and Boston Terrier, Mookie. We love to stay busy, so you can find usually find us hiking, skiing, camping, or catching waves at local beaches.

My Story

I started Belly Rebuild based on my own postpartum experiences. Having 3 babies did a number on my core, and back then, over a decade ago, I couldn't find anyone in the area who specialized in diastasis recti and pelvic floor rehab. Belly Rebuild was born because I knew I couldn't possibly be the only woman in New England who was struggling with these issues! Before I get much more into that, let me back up and give you my background.

I studied exercise science and psychology at UMass-Amherst. I also was a pretty decent equestrian and horses were a huge passion of mine. After I graduated, I had the opportunity to ride professionally for a time, so I seized the moment and went all in on the horse world, up until I got pregnant with my first daughter.

After the birth of my baby girl, I took a step back from the professional horse world and got my certification in Power Pilates. I taught Pilates and pre-and post-natal fitness classes (and still did some free-lance horse-training).

Over the course of my subsequent two pregnancies, I developed an umbilical hernia, a large 8-finger diastasis, and stress incontinence. These things really affected me, both mentally and physically. Being active was always a huge part of my life, and I felt like my body had failed me. I couldn't do the things I enjoyed doing, I was scared that if I was active, that I'd be making things worse, and I couldn't find any professionals in the area who worked specifically in postpartum rehab.

I was desperate to avoid the very invasive and very expensive abdominoplasty surgery, so I looked into non-surgical methods to rehabilitate diastasis recti. I found a RN in NYC who was the pioneer in non-surgical DR rehab, so I worked with her remotely to heal my body. It took a while, but I successfully closed my DR and resolved my pelvic floor issues.

Once I experienced first-hand the dramatic results that can be achieved from following a prescribed rehabilitation program, I was inspired to start my own practice in order to provide other women (and men) with the help and resources to close their diastases, strengthen their pelvic floors, and rebuild their cores.

Since then, I've continued to learn and grow as a practitioner, working with other leaders in the field of postpartum wellness. I've earned numerous other certifications in order to provide my clients with the most well-rounded and comprehensive programs possible, holding certifications in functional pelvic floor therapy, scar release therapy, the Tupler Technique, and the Tummy Team endorsed practitioner license.
